Entropy-based IoT Devices Identification

We present a new method to identify IoT devices based on traffic entropy. We compute the entropy values of traffic features and we rely on Machine Learning algorithms to classify the traffic. Our method succeeds
in identifying devices under various network conditions with performances up to 94% in all cases. Our method is also robust to unpredictable network behavior with anomalies spreading into the network.
We expect our research will help us to better understand the characteristics of IoT devices. Besides, we also hope that our research contributes somewhat to enhancing the security of the IoT network in general and smart home in particular.
For future work, we are improving our method to get a higher accuracy and expanding the scope of research with 欧洲杯足彩app下载_欧洲杯下注平台-【直播*网站】 quantity and type of IoT devices.
