AGH-SIT Symposium held at SIT Toyosu Campus

A symposium on Energy and Environmental Engineering was held in cooperation with AGH University of Krakow and Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) at SIT’s Toyosu campus from July 12 to 14. 

At the opening ceremony, opening remarks were made by Mr. Tomasz Gwozdowski, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Dr. Dawid Kostecki, Director, Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), Professor Dr. Rafal Wisniowski, Vice Rector, AGH University of Krakow, Professor Dr. Janusz Szmyd, the Rector’s Proxy for Cooperation with Japan, AGH University of Krakow, and Dr. Jun Yamada, President of SIT.

This symposium consisted of 2 plenary lectures, 6 keynote lectures, and 24 student presentations and was supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) (as part of the Strategic Partnerships Program, Project No. BPI/PST/2021/1/00023), and was organized by both AGH University of Krakow and SIT.

Prior to the opening ceremony, Takeo Suzumi, SIT’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, and President Jun Yamada held a meeting with Mr. Tomasz Gwozdowski and Ms. Julia Cichy, Secretary, Political and Economic Section, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Professor Dr. Janusz Szmyd, and SIT’s Vice President Akito Takasaki, to discuss the history of cooperation between AGH University of Krakow and SIT.

This Symposium is expected to provide momentum for next year's 20th anniversary of the SIT-AGH University of Krakow cooperative partnership.
