From September 19 to 22, ten students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, participated in special lectures and workshops at SIT's Toyosu and Omiya campuses. This program was organized by UiTM students, with the topic of "disaster prevention,". With the cooperation of Prof. Hitoshi Nakamura and Prof. Yukihiro Masuda of the Department of Environmental Systems, Faculty of Systems Engineering and Science, and alumni and master's students from their laboratories, the students participated in a program that included interaction with Shibaura students, workshops, laboratory visits and industrial visits, cultural experiences, and other activities.
This is one of the short-intensive programs, namely “Explore Japan & Technology” that SIT offers for the students from partner universities abroad.
10 similar short intensive programs were conducted during the first semester of AY2023 (from April to July) and over 280 students enjoyed their stay at SIT and Japan.
On the last day of the program, the participating students are to make a small presentation about their experience in Japan. You can see how much they enjoyed every minute of their stay in Japan.
The program is also a valuable opportunity for SIT students as they can improve their English conversation skill and develop a global mindset through the workshop.
