On June 12th, SIT Vice President Professor Takasaki, SIT Director/Board Member Yongjin Chung, and SIT Division of Global Initiatives General Manager Masahiko Inoda, as well as the Vice Rectors of two Polish Universities, made a courtesy on SDSU’s College of Engineering Dean, Dr. Olevesky, to discuss future collaboration.

This visit was made possible when Professor Janusz Szmyd at AGH University of Science and Technology introduced Dr. Janusz Supernak, Emeritus Professor of Engineering at SDSU, to Vice President Takasaki when both were participating in an international exchange event at AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland in April 2023.  As a result, Dr. Takasaki and Dr. Wisniowski, the Vice Rector of AGH University of Science and Technology, agreed to visit SDSU together to discuss the implementation of an international exchange program at the three universities.

From Poland, Dr. Sniadala, the Vice Rector of University of Science and Technology Poznan, also participated in the courtesy visit. At that event, each university gave a presentation on their institution to the Dean Olevesky, Professor Zhao, the Chair, Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, Professor Ren, the Chair, Department of Computer Science, and other professors from Mechanical Engineering as well as to international office executives.  Vice President Takasaki introduced SIT and made a proposal on the possibility of a “triangle exchange program” that would include such things as joint PBLs for students from the three universities.  SIT will assign faculty members from its Information and Mechanical Engineering to work with their faculty counterparts at SDSU on the details of future exchanges.
