2022 Shibaura Institute of Technology Entrance Ceremony held

In his welcome address, President Yamada said, "In the future, those who can make good use of ICT and digital technology will surely survive. I hope that students will acquire the ability to use digital technology, as well as language skills, so that they can cope with the globalization and digitalization of our society." Stressing the necessity of acquiring digital skills, he said "I would like you to take the newly established information course, which can be taken in any department beginning this year." He emphasized the importance of being sensitive to social trends and being aware of what society is expecting and gave encouragement to the students in their new university life.
 
Following the ceremonial address by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Suzumi, President Yamada explained the mission of SIT as a "Super Global University",  and the new students listened intently to his description the university's initiatives.
 
A Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra concert, presented by the SIT Alumni Association, was a beautiful and dramatic celebration of the start of the new year, and included performances of the "Voice of Spring" Waltz, "Dragon Quest XI Overture" and "Dignity and Majesty"
