The opening ceremony of the Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) and AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH-UST)-Poland Master's Double Degree Program in Energy and Environmental Engineering was held on April 12th, 2023. The presidents of both
universities, professors and students participating in the program, as well as distinguished guests from both Poland and Japan, exchanged messages and confirmed future cooperation.
SIT and AGH-UST have been engaged in academic exchanges since 2004 and will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their partnership next year in 2024. The double master's degree Program, which began in 2022 with five students from SIT and seven from AGH-UST, has recently regained momentum, with a second group of five students from SIT and eight from AGH-UST this year.
This program is the first double degree program at the master’s level in the 96-year history of SIT. A significant, continuing collaboration between Japan and Poland in the environmental and energy field, its aim is to develop skilled professionals who can contribute to solving challenges related to the global environment by broadening students' international perspectives.
The successful launch of the Master's Double Degree Program in Energy and Environmental Engineering is a significant milestone for SIT and AGH-UST.
