SIT has conducted Special Lecture and Facility Tour as a part of “Project for Strengthening Human Resource Development of Engineering and Technology for Industry Development in Laos” by JICA

On June 12, 2023, as part of the training program for the project "Project to Strengthen Engineering Human Resources for Industrial Development in Laos," Director General, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos, Vice Dean, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos(NUOL), and various department heads visited Shibaura Institute of Technology(SIT) for special lectures and observations.
The " Project for Strengthening Human Resource Development of Engineering and Technology for Industry Development in Laos " is implemented by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with the aim of improving undergraduate engineering education at the Faculty of Engineering of NUOL to develop engineering human resources in Laos. The purpose of this training program is to learn about various types of engineering education in Japan, compare and analyze them with engineering education in Laos, and consider the future of the Faculty of Engineering of NUOL, especially as a higher education institution.
After opening remarks by the President, Dr. Yamada, the Prof Kose, director, Bay Area Open Innovation Center(BOiSE) gave a lecture on the industry-academia-government-civil cooperation activities by Shibaura Institute of Technology and the Bay Area Open Innovation Center, and the Prof Sawa of Department of Mechanical Engineering gave a lecture on the Advanced Manufacturing Process Research Center, of which he is the director. This was followed by a tour of the Advanced Manufacturing Process Research Center (AMRC) and the Center for Shared Equipment and Manufacturing (CSEF). After the tour, participants actively exchanged opinions on industry-academia collaboration and other topics.
