Clarifying the mechanical mechanisms of biological tissue morphogenesis
Tissues in living organisms autonomously form diverse structures and functions through the processes of development and growth. This process is realized through complex interactions between molecules and cells, in which physical forces play an important role. Our laboratory aims to clarify the self-organized regulatory mechanisms in such biological phenomena through interdisciplinary approaches encompassing mechanics, life science, and medical science with the aid of mathematical modeling and computer simulations.
