Manufactural Processing Laboratory
Processing materials into optimal shapes by extracting most suitable properties
Many objects around us were produced by casting materials in a mold. There are constant demands to add further value to objects to make our lifestyles richer. Our laboratory conducts research on plasticity processing, or making objects by casting. We contribute to society by developing technologies to manufacture excellent objects that have desired properties and shapes by effectively using changes in material properties when the materials are molded.

FOR SOCIETY
Metal materials are strengthened after undergoing a major deformation. Using highly strengthened materials can make objects lighter and smaller. By applying such materials, we aim to develop frame materials for micromachines.
RESEARCH THEMES
- Research on relationship between shapability of stainless steel and material properties
- Research on manufacturing of products that use ultrafine steel
- Development of evaluate system for material strength by means of orthogonal cutting
