Exploring the future of architecture and urban cities from energy and environmental perspectives
Energy makes it possible for urban cities, which converge housings and architectures, to function. It will be a major challenge for the architectural sector, for a long time, to devise measures to deal with the global warming triggered by the extensive use of energy and the paralysis of urban functions in the wake of disasters. Our laboratory explores an ideal state of a “smart community” or the state of next-generation architectures and urban cities, from the perspectives of energy and environment. FOR SOCIETY
The research results of our laboratory are used for architectures to enhance the efficiency of energy use, such as for air conditioning, hot water supply and other domains that use electricity. Our graduates are currently working as engineers in facility designing at architect offices as well as construction- and energy-related companies.

- Development of tools that will assist local governments in drafting “green city plans”
- Research on the methods of planning next-generation regional energy systems that will help in establishing zero-energy buildings (ZEB)
- Research on the use of energy system simulations to devise measures for conserving the use of energy in buildings.
