Building materials and components Laboratory
Ensuring the performance of building parts
There are a diverse range of requirements for modern architectures, including those pertaining to the safety, comfortableness and durability. Architectural parts, such as floors, walls and roofs as well as the materials used are helping to ensure that buildings meet the requirements. Our laboratory is researching how to evaluate the performance of building materials and parts and how to enhance their performances with the aim of improving the quality of our living and societal spaces.

FOR SOCIETY
We aim to further improve the safety, comfortableness and durability of architectures based on the results of our investigations on how buildings have degraded or those of experiments using reproduced building parts.
RESEARCH THEMES
- Research on methods to predict the degrading of exterior walls and the waterproof performance of building parts
- Research on methods for the maintenance management of exterior walls and waterproof performance of building parts
- Research on methods to evaluate the performance of materials for interior finish
